This rare gem comes from a tiny 0.5-hectare parcel with deep loess soils, located on the western side of Tokaj Hill. Planted to both Furmint and Hárslevelű, the vineyard, now over 50 years old, carries deep sentimental value—it was part of the family’s wedding gift. The loess soils excel in drought conditions, producing wines with remarkable acidity while preserving their vibrant aromatics. Its proximity to Kikelet’s Lónyai vineyard underscores the area’s pedigree.

In the 1867 *Tokaj Hegyaljai Album*, Előhegy was described as a site that “unites all those desirable features of a site one can imagine.” True to its reputation, this wine is young and fresh in its early years but begins to reveal its full potential with 3-5 years of aging, gaining depth and complexity over time.
