François Villard Les Contours de Mairlant 2022

Fermented using indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature, the wine then matures for nearly a year on its lees in seasoned oak barrels (between 3-5 years of age). This limited release boasts a production of just 11,300 bottles.

This white exudes elegance, presenting fruity aromas with a gentle toasted undertone, all underpinned by a crisp mineral touch. Its palate dances with flavors of white peach and pear, achieving a harmonious balance: rich yet fresh, smooth yet invigorating.

A shining figure in the northern Rhône, François Villard transitioned from the culinary world to the vineyards. Initially a chef, his passion for wine led him to don the hat of a sommelier. By 1991, he had fully immersed himself in winemaking. Although largely self-taught, he has benefited from a close bond with Yves Cuilleron.
