Upon arriving at the property, this vineyard offers the initial greeting. Its predominant granite soil glistens under the sunlight, contributing to wines characterized by modest alcohol content and a slight touch of residual sugar, harmonizing the potent acidity. The Kirchensteig became part of the inaugural 2010 Erste Lage (First Growth) classification. This honor, bestowed by the Association of Austrian Traditionsweingüter, represents two decades of recognizing Austria's finest vineyards. The grapes, hand-harvested and pressed whole with care, undergo fermentation in stainless steel before maturing on the lees for 19 months.
