Lichtenberger González Leithaberg DAC Weiss 2023

Neuburger, though widely grown on the Leithaberg, rarely shines as a single-varietal wine. This example is crafted from old vines rooted in pure limestone. The result is a wine brimming with delicate ripe fruit, hints of walnut, hay, herbs, and pear, with complementing floral thought bubbles. 

The Leithaberg Weiß 2023 is lightly creamy and refreshingly drinkable, with sophistication in every sip. After a few hours of maceration, the must ferments spontaneously and matures in used barriques. Though it benefits from a little air to fully unfold, I'd throw it in a decanter for an hour or so, and drink out of some fine Montrachet glasses.
