Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner Achleiten Smaragd 2021

This legendary vineyard located at the outskirts of Weißenkirchen is surrounded by 12th century dry stone walls and sits on soil composed of siliceous, barren earth with Gföhl gneiss in the upper part of the mountain and paragneiss and dark, foliated amphibolite rock in the lower slope. Upon harvesting, this wine is gently pressed and fermented (partially spontaneous) before an extended storage period in stainless steel tanks followed by further aging in large wooden barrels and extended time on its lees.
