Drawn from estate vineyards in Frankland River, where gravelly loam over laterite and a cool, dry climate give a firmer, more structured expression of mourvèdre.
Fermentation includes a portion of whole bunch, with extraction kept measured to manage the variety’s tannin. Élevage takes place in large-format oak, used to support the wine without overt influence.
Dark berry fruit, plum and spice lead, with dried herbs and an earthy edge. The palate is mid- to full-weight, with firm, granular tannins and a long, savoury finish.
