Red WineAmato Vino Teroldego 2020
Margaret River, a bastion of winemaking tradition, yet Brad Wehr upends this at Amato Vino with his cultivation of non-traditional varieties like Teroldego.
The Teroldego by Amato Vino, a tongue-twister worthy of practice, originates from a singular vineyard close to Yallingup within the Margaret River appellation. A notable fraction, precisely 20%, undergoes whole bunch fermentation and is left to macerate with the skins for three weeks. An 18-month tenure in oak barrels follows, although, intriguingly, Teroldego's inherent “oaky” essence necessitates only the use of previously seasoned wood.
This wine, bold and unreserved, presents an audacious character that promises to spark conversation at any table it graces.
An enticingly bold, gastronomy-friendly red wine with a distinctive presence.
