Domaine des Ardoisières Schiste 2024

The Schiste cuvée emerges with apricot, pears and orange blossom followed by slight toasted nuts and underlining herbal note. 40% Jacquère, 30% Roussette, 20% Pinot Gris, and 10% Mondeuse Blanche, aged for a year in 3-5 year old barrels.

The Domaine des Ardoisières is one of the estates that prove that Savoie is capable of producing wines with the same quality as Burgundy or Jura. Michel Grisard initiated the replanting of the Cevins hillside with six hectares of mica schists along terraces between Albertville and Moutiers in 1998, leading to the birth of the Domaine.

Brice Omont, an agricultural engineer from Champagne, invested in the project in 2003 to assist Grisard. Currently, he heads the Estate that now consists of 16 hectares. The vineyard practices biodynamic viticulture, and the slope can reach up to 70% incline, resulting in very low yields.
