Red WineXiao Pu Perdue 22.1
All of Xiao Pu’s Pinot Noirs are named ‘Perdue’. The reason is simple: Pinot Noir is a grape variety that makes people lose themselves. It’s lively, elusive, hard to grasp — yet on the other hand, full of seduction. It’s delicious, but you never quite know how it manages to be that way. You can’t achieve great results simply by adding more, nor can you guarantee beauty by tightening control over every detail.
Perdue’s 2021 vintage became an unexpected hit in Hong Kong and Singapore, where it earned the nickname “China’s little cleaver” after being compared to Domaine Prieure Roch.
This is the third release of Perdue, drawn from the 2022 vintage. As always, the winemaking remains very simple: native yeasts, uncontrolled ferments, light extractions. The focus, rather, is on blending.
Perdue is the attempt of someone who loves Pinot Noir, working within tight constraints, using the most natural methods possible, to recreate the beauty of Pinot Noir as it exists in their mind.
