Xiao Pu Gathering MV.7 Magnum

Founded in 2017, Xiao Pu is a ‘nomadic winery’ that produces idosyncratic cuvées experimenting with extended maceration, alternative varieties, and multi-vintage field blends. 

With long-term partnered growers in six Chinese provinces - Ningxia, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Yunnan, and Sichuan - vintage is spent dancing between vineyards across the country, picking and pressing at each location. Characterised by minimal sulphur and oak, Xiao Pu is an outlier in China’s wine landscape.

This is a field blend of many grapes: Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Muscat of Hamburg, Marsellan, Dunkelfelder. It's also multi-vintage, bottled in 2025. The wine is full of character, with dense dark and red fruit, but also a firm thread of soy and mushroom umami that runs through the core of cherry, black plums, chestnuts, and star anise.
