White WineWerkstatt Mount Gambier Pinot Gris 2026
Bridget Mac has trained and worked as an artist before making the move to winemaking, and has spent several vintages working with some of the finest winemakers in Australia and France.
A long, cool 2026 vintage in Mount Gambier—marked by increased rainfall—delivered excellent fruit quality and vibrant natural acidity. After years of coaxing my growers to part with a portion of their Pinot Gris, 2026 was finally the year. Picked on April 5th, the fruit was cold-soaked for 12 hours before a long, slow press designed to minimise pomace breakup. Cold-settled and transferred to neutral oak, the juice fermented and aged on full solids, yielding a wine that balances crisp maritime acidity with rich, layered textural depth.
Spicy clove and white pepper join heirloom red apple cider, and yellow peach notes on the nose. The palate is lush with excellent depth and a creamy, long lingering mouthfeel, carrying pink grapefruit, nashi pear, and baking spices. Integrated acidity keeps the rich texture focused with a hit of freshness.
