Suertes del Marqués Tenerife Valle de la Orotava Esquilon 2019

El Esquilón is a renowned north-facing parcel of land covering just over one hectare, characterized by its rocky volcanic soil and ungrafted Listán Negro vines that were planted in the 1930s and 1950s. With a small addition of Listán Blanco vines that are over 100 years old, this vineyard also features the "baby" Tintilia grape, which was planted on its own rootstocks in 2000.

Winemaker Jonatan García is known for his expertise in crafting high-quality wines, and the 2019 blend is no exception. This wine is composed of 90% Listán Negro and features 100% whole bunches, unlike previous vintages. The fermentation process occurs in concrete, and the wine is aged for 14 months in 500L neutral demi-muids. Bottled unfiltered, this wine is a testament to García's winemaking skills and the unique characteristics of El Esquilón.
