Mukado Mtsvane 2022

Mukado Wines was founded in 2013 by Lado Uzunashvili, an 11th-generation winemaker. Although Mukado is a relatively young winery, it continues his family’s long winemaking tradition in the Mukuzani region, where his family has been making wine since 1829. Lado is internationally recognised as one of Georgia’s most prominent and experienced oenologists. He has spent decades working, consulting and conducting viticultural research across the globe.

This 40 year old vineyard site is dry-farmed and organically managed, sitting at 580 metres above sea level. Soils here are shallow red clay over carbonated limestone. Élevage in unlined qvevri made from locally sourced clay, with 50% of the wine seeing skin contact for 6 months.
