Weingut Malat

Sparkling Wine

Malat Brut Nature Sekt Austria Reserve 2017

Weingut Malat is of great significance in the world of Austrian wine, as a benchmark producer of wine from the Kremstal region, but perhaps their speciality is sparkling wine.

Michael's father was the first in the country to produce Traditional Method sparkling wine from estate fruit in 1976. Since then, the wines have been made by hand every step of the way.

Disgorged 11/2022, the composition is 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay.

Effervescent jasmine perfume and an umami note of parsley root and grilled nuts. It’s vegetal and nutty, with a savoury palate, lemony tang and lift, lemon tea twist, and mandarin oil. Very refreshing with an interesting character and foamy fine bubbles. 91 Points
