Inkwell Deeper Well Shiraz 2019

2019 Deeper Well is a vintage select wine made from their most age worth Shiraz parcels after eighteen months ageing in French oak barrels each year. The wine is then only released at five years of age.

This wild fermented single vineyard wine builds complexity from two different types of Shiraz grown on two different geologies in adjoining blocks at Inkwell.

“From an impactful vintage, this is a broad-shouldered wine, redolent of dark fruits, dried cherry, plum, leather and iron, dried beef, Ferro Kina amaro, cocoa powder and master stock. But for all its front and savoury detail, this is lithe and textural, the woven framework of natural tannin a pleasure, cradling the fruit, delivering savoury tension without any abruptness.
