White WineCruse Wine Co Rorick Chardonnay 2021
Situated just outside Murphys in the elevated terrains of the Sierra Foothills lies a distinctive vineyard. This unique location, established in 1974, boasts own-rooted vines thriving in schist soils atop a limestone bedrock. Matthew Rorick and his family recently became the proud owners of this plot. Due to the vine age, altitude, and the stony composition of the soil, the yield is incredibly low, producing exceptionally small clusters.
Wine begins with a rich aroma of orange blossoms, sweet pastry cream, and apricot. The palate is robust, reflecting the concentrated grapes borne of the high elevation. Notes of zesty citrus mingle seamlessly with ripe pear and delicate white blossoms. Concluding with a luminous finish, the wine leaves an endearing touch of minerals.
