Vignobles Berthier L'Instant Pinot Noir 2023

While better known for highly-regarded Sauvignon Blanc, red and rosé wines made from Pinot Noir account for 20% of the production of Sancerre in the Central Loire. Here, the cool climate and soils composed of limestone and flint, produce light-bodied reds showing crunchy red fruits. 

Vingobles Berthier, based in Sancerre, is managed by 5th generation vignerons Clément and Florian Berthier. The brothers have returned home to their family terroir after extensive experience in the US, New Zealand, and Burgundy.

This Pinot Noir is bright in the glass, showing tangy dark cherries, plums, and red currants, with nuances of florals, fresh herbs, and orange oil. It sits lightly on the palate, with food-friendly silty tannin.
