French Wine Scholar

The French Wine Scholar Programme sets the industry standard as the most in-depth and comprehensive certification program devoted entirely to the iconic wines of France. This course is designed especially for dedicated wine enthusiasts and industry professionals. No prior study is required for enrolment.

The FWS course covers all the key information on French appellations, viticultural and winemaking in an historical and cultural context. This will provide the student, through a blend of theory and tasting, a thorough undertanding of French wine.

8 meetings over 5 weeks

Make up classes are not available if you miss a session.

6 to 14 students

This course requires at least 6 students to commence.

Become a Certified French Wine Scholar through the industry's most respected qualification on French wine. The Wine Scholar Guild is the international authority on wines of place. Complete an in-depth study of the appellations, wine styles, history and culture of each French region and taste your way around France with premium wine samples at each session. Taught by French Wine Scholar / DipWSET Gill Sykes who has 20 years of experience as a professional wine educator. 

Fine Print

Students withdrawing from the course within 72 hours of commencement will forfeit 20% of the course fee.

Courses may be cancelled by Cardwell Cellars up to 72 hours before commencement of the first class. In this case, all enrolments will be refunded or moved to the next available class date.
