Another Erste Lage (1ÖTW) Riesling from Michael Malat and his organic vineyards in Kremstal. Malat was established in 1722 and supports low intervention. This Riesling comes from a steep terraced site on the Danube first documented in 1450.
Orange blossom with lavender, frangipani perfume, sweet but not sickly-sweet, more like yellow bitter liqueur, Strega comes to mind with a hint of saffron and finishing bitterish. It’s quite full in flavour spectrum showing red apples and melon skin. Very seductive aromas. Powerful hit of succulent acidity and the essence of the aforementioned aromas, then plush long finish, talcum powder fine texture. A delight. Super. 95 Points
