Domaine Élodie Chalmeau Bourgogne Aligoté 2023

Domaine Chalmeau is owned and operated by Elodie Chalmeau, who left a marketing career to take over the reins from her parents Patrice and Christine in 2005. The Chalmeau family has been making wine on the property since Patrice’s grandfather created the estate after the second world war. The domaine is located in the village of Chitry, which shares Kimmeridgian limestone soils with the neighbouring village of Chabils. Here, Elodie produces Bourgogne Chitry Rouge and Blanc from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as Aligoté and sparkling crémant. 

This Aligoté sees no oak, in line with Domaine Chalmeau's house style. It's fresh and textural, showing apples and pears, with candied citrus and herbs leading to a saline finish.
