Bott Pince Tokaji Szamorodni Edes 2021

Szamorodni is a word that comes from Polish, for 'as it comes.' These wines are named in reference to their importance to the historical wine merchant customers that supported the production of these wines for centuries in Krakow. There are two styles, 'edes' and 'szaraz'. While the Szaraz version is a cousin of the Vin Jaune in the Jura (made under flor, ullaged), the Edes version is a kind of light version of Aszu. The berries aren't sorted, so varying levels of Botrytis affectation are harvested and pressed together, with plenty of skin-contact etc.
