Achaval Ferrar
Red WineAchaval Ferrer 'Finca Altamira' 2021
Achaval Ferrer has a singular passion: to produce world-class, terroir driven, Argentine wines. Achaval Ferrer, as guardian of the terroir, produces Malbec from its century-old vineyards planted in 1910, 1921, 1923 and 1950. Located in the most renowned regions of Mendoza: Luján de Cuyo, the East and the Uco Valley, they represent the winemaking heritage and tradition of the province, highlighting the richness and diversity of each area.
Planted in 1950, Finca Altamira is located at the foot of the Andes, at 3,600 feet of altitude, on the southern bank of the Tunuyán River. Altamira is mountainous with an extreme climate, a reflection of its position in the Uco Valley. The growing conditions are challenging, its unique soil prole presents volcanic ash and rocks with calcareous sediments. Finca Altamira is a wine which expresses the minerality of its surroundings; it is fresh and vertical, like the mountain range which towers above it.
