Kenny Wine
Red WineKenny Watervale Grenache 2025
In 2021, Andrew Kenny introduced the Kenny Wine brand, emphasizing Clare Riesling and Adelaide Hills pinot. With the acquisition of an Auburn vineyard, situated in Clare's subregion, 2021 heralded the addition of a home-site shiraz to his collection. Kenny crafts wines that reflect traditional elegance, embodying the ideal regions and grape varieties he's passionate about.
Kenny states, "Our philosophy revolves around crafting single-vineyard wines, with meticulous vineyard practices, emphasizing the unique aspects of each site, its distinct subregional traits, and the choice of clones. Rather than overshadowing the distinctiveness of each harvest with ornate winemaking, we aim to embrace and highlight these differences, producing genuine wines that we're honored to enjoy and share."
This is a delicate and floral expression of Clare Valley Grenache. Whole bunch pressed, with 2/3 pressed before ferment and 1/3 undergoing carbonic maceration, the wine rests on lees in seasoned oak until bottling. On the nose, rosewater, strawberries, and pink grapefruit. The palate is long, light, and fresh, with smooth, silky texture and gentle spice on the finish.
