Domaine de Beudon Fendant Vielle Vigne 2020

Fendant (Chasselas), as it is referred to in the Valais, is perhaps the grape most associated with Swiss Wines. It can produce wines of ethereal lightness, but can also yield wines of intense concentration with more body and weight. 

This example, made from fruit from old vines, is the latter.

Opening with a robust aroma featuring almond essence, dried wildflowers, and wild herbs, complemented by hints of sweet citrus, delicate dried fruits, and pear. The texture is rich, cream-like, harmoniously balanced by natural acidity, light tannin, and whisps of smokiness. Finishes very clean with a long thread of caramel.
