Selene Côte de Brouilly Beaujolais Gamay

Nestled in the quaint town of Blacé in Beaujolais, Sylvere Trichard inherited his family's four-hectare vineyard in 2012, which has since expanded to 6.5 hectares. All of which are cultivated organically. Before taking the reins of the family vineyard, Sylvere sharpened his viticultural insights with Domaine Belluard in Savoie. Seeking a deeper connection to his roots, he later collaborated with the renowned Domaine Lapalu of Brouilly.

Sylvere is profoundly rooted in the dual concepts of family and land. He grapples with a generational dilemma faced by many young vintners: whether to adhere to age-old traditions or forge a distinct path.

In homage to Beaujolais practices, much of his wine matures in concrete. However, he isn't averse to innovation, occasionally fermenting in foudre. His winemaking approach avoids filtration, fining, and sulphur, unless a particular year presents heightened disease challenges. The resulting wines sparkle with immediate gratification, brimming with vibrant fruit.

His wines undergo semi-carbonic maceration and age in an ensemble of concrete vats, barrels aged 5-6 years, and foudre. Depending on the vintage, they may be bottled with or without the addition of SO2.
