An additional block, planted in 1977, tends to a WNW aspect, closer proximity to the limestone base, and has less gravel and more sandy loam. When combined, these soils produce a delicate expression of white florals and layers of mineral intensity that continue throughout the palate. While it may take a while to wake up, this wine leads with crushed rock and chalky minerality, followed by citrus, fruit, and florals on the nose. Layers of kafir lime, white nectarine, and apple blossom add complexity to the textured palate, which is a hallmark of this site. Intense with nashi pear, white nectarine, and grapefruit, the fruit is layered, with soft acidity that lends incredible length to the finish.
